ROB GARRETT’S “KING OF DIAMONDS” LAS VEGAS SHOW RESIDENCY CONTINUES ON in the “MODERN SHOWROOMS” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.
Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.
Besides being one of the biggest selling and most successful live artists ever, he’s also composed the songs of a generation — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond stepped away from live performances after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences worldwide through longtime Las Vegas performer Rob Garrett, widely regarded as the top Neil Diamond tribute artist.
Ask Alexa “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll get the same answer.
Like his idol, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In May 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to Las Vegas, where, two years later, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.
In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by Paul Revere, leader of “The Raiders” to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.
What was meant to be a three-month trial turned into a long-term hit show.
By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to launch his own show.
He began a busy tour circuit, building a devoted fan base along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”
He continues to perform to sold-out venues nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also won numerous awards, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has appeared at more Vegas stages than any other.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Neil Diamond tribute Las Vegas residency Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only continuous Neil Diamond tribute in the U.S..
Alexis Park Resort Hotel is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., just ¼ mile west of Paradise Rd..
